About The Position

At Flanigan’s, servers help create a warm, friendly guest experience by welcoming and guiding guests, taking and serving orders, and attending to details throughout each meal. The role includes following safety and sanitation procedures, supporting coworkers, maintaining menu knowledge, using the POS system, handling payments, completing shift duties, and keeping guest restrooms clean and stocked.

Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Able to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s policies and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s policies and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees with table appearance and running food and drinks as needed.
• Know Food & Beverage menus, items, promotions, and specials, and answer guests’ questions clearly.
• Accurately write down guest orders and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests in a timely manner.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; process transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS; calculate and deliver correct change promptly.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Restock and maintain cleanliness of guest restrooms.
