About The Position

Flanigan’s is seeking a warm, caring, friendly, and outgoing Server who enjoys serving others. Servers play a vital role in each meal by welcoming and guiding guests, taking and serving orders, and attending to guest and dining-area details. The role includes following safety and sanitation procedures, using the POS system to process orders and payments, assisting coworkers, completing assigned shift duties, and maintaining restroom cleanliness.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Ability to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in compliance with Flanigan’s requirements and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s requirements and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees as needed with table appearance and running food and drinks.
• Know the food and beverage menus, current promotions, and specials, and clearly answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately record guest orders and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests in a timely manner.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; use the POS efficiently to ensure correct transactions; and calculate and deliver correct change in a timely manner.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
