About The Position

Mexican Sugar is seeking a Server to be an experience maker for guests seeking a fresher, lighter, better Latin experience. We offer sultry Mexican comfort with service that is two steps ahead of the guest's every need, characterized by passion and grace under pressure, ensuring staff are always in control and anticipating service needs.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years serving experience; high-end casual or fine dining preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Properly use a knife and other equipment required to execute necessary tasks.
• Maintain a current Food Handler's Certification and TABC Certification.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and follow regulations regarding alcohol sale and service.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Possess a passion for service that is comforting, effortless, warm, and attentive to guest needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, including origins, pronunciations, and ingredients.
• Recommend appropriate drinks, such as handcrafted margaritas, red wine, or tequilas.
• Create regular guests through resort-style service that is bilingual and detailed, yet not stuffy or pretentious.
• Inspire teammates and be a resource for them.
• Understand and balance great service with efficiency.
