Oaklawn is seeking a talented individual to become a Server. The Server is responsible for providing knowledgeable, prompt, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverages to dining guests, ensuring expectations are exceeded. The role requires maintaining a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, enthusiastically supporting and promoting superior customer service, and maintaining strict confidentiality. This position involves providing impeccable and responsive guest service, maintaining current and accurate menu knowledge, suggesting items based on guest preferences, and up-selling appetizers, beverages, and desserts. A working knowledge of computer systems, especially POS systems, is necessary for entering orders, presenting checks, and handling cash. The Server must follow all cash handling and gaming guidelines, ensure proper setup and maintenance of service stations, tables, and common areas, and maintain polished, stocked, and properly set silverware, glassware, and flatware. Knowledge of liquor and wine service, along with state laws pertaining to alcohol sales, is required. The Server will deliver prepared food within designated time standards, monitor and resolve service issues, assist with bussing and cleaning tables, and maintain cleanliness of designated areas according to health and safety standards. Deep cleaning of restaurant equipment and operation/maintenance of equipment are also part of the duties. The role includes recognizing and serving VIP players appropriately, promoting casino events and programs, and providing directions to casino areas. The Server will clear, clean, reset, and maintain their station during shifts, assist other servers, and handle guest receipts according to policy. Staying up-to-date on casino events and F&B outlet hours of operation, and following Oaklawn's established procedures and policies are essential.
