About The Position

Aspira Island Park Retirement Living is seeking a Server for an existing temporary part-time position. This role reports to the Executive Chef and is responsible for all aspects of hospitality-style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents, in accordance with legislative requirements and organizational standards. Requirements

• Must have the Smart Serve Certificate OR willing to get within 30 days of start date.
• One (1) year experience.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

• Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset.
• Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables.
• Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
• Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department.
• Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready.
• Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
• Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
