About The Position

The Server reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate, responsible for all aspects of dining room service, resident lounges, and room service for residents, guests, and the public. This role ensures quality customer service related to the culinary experience within our communities.

Requirements

• Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
• Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
• WHMIS Certificate.
• Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
• All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to operate related food service equipment.
• Must be in good health, physically able to operate food service equipment and perform tasks related to the position.
• Must be free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions which may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 year’s experience in a dining room environment an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepares dining room for all services, including setting tables, stocking items, and assisting with food and beverage preparation, presentation, and serving.
• Performs general cleaning duties in the dining room, such as clearing and bussing tables, scrapping, and occasionally washing dishes, adhering to Infection Protection and Control guidelines.
• Establishes and maintains a pleasant dining atmosphere, ensuring residents' happiness, self-respect, dignity, and physical safety.
• Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public.
• Undertakes some or all housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
• Attends and participates in community and education programs.
• Responds to resident and building emergencies.
• Performs other duties as required.
