About The Position

The Osthoff Resort is seeking a skilled server to join our Food & Beverage team! The ideal candidate will provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to ensure the best experience possible to restaurant guests, supporting the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Strong customer/ guest service skills
  • At least one year of serving experience
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our Guests
  • Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
  • Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate the POS
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Must possess a positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Present menus and specials, answer questions regarding the menu, and make thoughtful recommendations
  • Accurately take and enter orders
  • Provide attentive table service, anticipating guest needs and ensuring a seamless dining experience
  • Present checks, process payments, and thank guests for their visit
  • Promote the Osthoff Resort's service principle by example--respond to/resolve guest inquiries, complaints or concerns in a courteous, timely and efficient manner
  • Inform Restaurant Manager/Supervisor/Team Leader of any issues
  • Maintain a harmonious work environment
  • Maintains service presentation, sanitation, and organization of work area
  • Set tables according to standards during and after service
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, features, menu deviations, and 86’ed items
  • Assist in the checklists at the beginning/end of each shift with the team, including polishing, cleaning, prepping, and restocking of supplies
  • Complete proper end-of-day reports (Sales Reports, Financial Reports, Tip Reports)
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
