About The Position

The Server provides residents and guests with a high-quality dining experience and delivers Platinum Service® through courteous, responsive, timely, and caring interactions. The role serves meals and beverages, takes orders, answers menu questions, assists residents as needed, and helps prepare and maintain dining areas. The position may also support events, activities, and other dining rooms. The Server follows sanitation requirements and assigned cleaning schedules, and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for the position.
• Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, and the public.
• Be capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people.
• Communicate sufficiently and effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
• Frequently lift or carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently push or pull up to 30 pounds and occasionally push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching at or below shoulder level, and frequent standing or walking.

• Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance and follow established portion-control procedures.
• Distribute and collect menus as needed; take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions about the menu.
• Follow sanitary regulations and provide Platinum Service® during dining experiences.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms with utensils, salt and pepper, and napkins; clean common areas before and after meals.
• Assist in checking resident trays before distribution.
• Pour hot and cold beverages and help residents open containers and condiments as needed, attending to resident and guest needs.
• Prepare and deliver snacks for community events and parties.
• Bus tables during and after meals.
• Provide support to other dining rooms during events and activities as needed.
• Clean dining room areas according to schedules and assignments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
