About The Position

We invite you to join the world of hospitality at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire as our new Server. The Server plays a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by providing professional, attentive, and knowledgeable food and beverage service. This role is responsible for ensuring guests receive efficient, personalized service while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, quality, and presentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of serving experience in a comparable restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Valid ProServe certification required
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine, wine pairings, cocktails, spirits, and liquors
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, take initiative, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of trays, plates, and service items

  • Physical stamina and dexterity required to maintain service standards during peak periods
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver items promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist with menu selections and dietary requirements.
  • Anticipate guest needs, personalize service, and create a welcoming dining environment.
  • Handle guest concerns or feedback in a calm, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ensure proper sequence of service is followed in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Serve food and beverages with attention to detail, presentation, and timing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Accurately maintain guest checks/folios using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure proper cash handling and completion of tip-outs to supporting team members.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and according to standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service environment.
  • Work closely with Food & Beverage colleagues and supervisors to support smooth daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol in accordance with provincial regulations.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and service standards.
