A Sky House server is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience. They act as the main point of contact between the kitchen and the customer, maintaining a clean and organized dining area while adhering to food safety and service standards. The server is our primary salesperson therefore, thorough knowledge of our menus is critical. Considered by many as the best skiing in Idaho and the best family-friendly resort in the Pacific Northwest, Schweitzer ranks as one of the nation’s top winter destinations with 2,900 acres of incredible terrain thanks to two massive bowls and renowned tree skiing. Located in the rugged Selkirk Mountains of the northern Idaho panhandle, and only 80 miles from Spokane, WA, Schweitzer overlooks the town of Sandpoint, ID and offers breathtaking views of three states, Canada and the impressive Lake Pend Oreille.

Requirements

  • Minimum education required- English reading, writing and communication; plus basic math.
  • Minimum 6 month serving experience; wine knowledge preferred with demonstrated competence.
  • Able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Will lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be capable of managing and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer knowledge and comfortable with a computer based point of sale (Squirrel is our current system).

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly, and answer questions about menu items, specials, and ingredients.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and deliver them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor tables to ensure guests have everything they need, clear used dishes, and reset tables for new guests.
  • ID guests in accordance to Idaho state liquor and identification laws.
  • Monitor guest intoxication and take action or get help, if necessary.
  • Present checks, process payments, and handle cash or card transactions accurately.
  • Responsible for daily point of sale reconciliation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area and follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Will vacuum, mop and sweep the restaurant area.
  • Maintain a positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward guests and coworkers.
  • Work as part of the team by assisting, communicating, and proactivity troubleshooting problems.
  • Responsible for staying busy during slow times and keep up on side work.
