About The Position

The server will ensure guest satisfaction by assisting the beverage ambassadors with delivering drink orders, conducting guest greets, and creating a legendary food and beverage experience. Servers assist all food and beverage functions, and as such professionals within the team trust by performing the following functions. This role involves maintaining food and beverage service in all designated sections including restaurant venues, table games, slots, and the poker room. Servers will primarily complete food and beverage orders to a designated slot machine or table game seat via technology. The position requires building relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions, learning guests’ names and preferences, and connecting with them individually and professionally. The server will also act as a liaison between guests and the beverage experience, acting with urgency to minimize wait times and maintaining a quick and purposeful pace. They must stay informed of property promotions, programs, and amenities, and achieve a thorough understanding of beverage-related products, services, menus, and prices. Compliance with liquor laws and regulatory guidelines is essential, including declining orders from those showing visible signs of intoxication and reporting intoxication according to departmental procedures. The role also includes clearing dirtied glassware, completing side work, maintaining assigned sections and workstations, and relaying complaints or feedback to a supervisor. The server will perform necessary paperwork, maintain confidential daily record keeping of tips, and keep their working space clean and stocked. Attendance at all training meetings and acting as a role model are also expected. The server must be able to work independently and as a team, providing alcohol and food service within the guidelines set forth by MAST training and WA State Food Handlers respectively. This job description does not list all of the duties of this position. You may be instructed by management to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a server preferred.
  • 1+ years in customer service industry with a clear passion for service.
  • Experience walking or standing for long durations of time preferred.
  • Prior Serving experience in fine dining for a minimum of 3 years. (when applicable)
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
  • Knowledge of liquor service is preferred.
  • Ability to handle cash and give proper change.
  • Must possess excellent customer relations and customer service skills.
  • Skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess the ability to show grace and compassion in all circumstances.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must project professionalism and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit.
  • Washington State Food Handler Permit within 14 days of start date.
  • Hepatitis A vaccination preferred.
  • Class 12 mixologist permit.
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) certification.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Comply with hair and makeup requirements.
  • Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Talk, hear, taste or smell.
  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 to 70 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- Internal Controls, and Northern Quest Policies and Procedures.
  • Greets guests in a friendly manner, deliver beverage/food order.
  • Greets everyone at all times. Smiles, makes eye contact and verbally greets guests and coworkers from arrival to the property through departure.
  • Knowledge in alcoholic beverages/garnishes and be prepared to answer guest questions.
  • Maintains an unwavering positive and friendly demeanor at all times in all circumstances. Demonstrates the highest level of guest service and attention to detail.
  • Maintain food and beverage service in all designated sections. Restaurant venues, Table games, Slots and the Poker Room.
  • Servers will primarily complete food and beverage orders to a designated slot machine or table game seat via technology.
  • Be knowledgeable and confident about wine. Menu-specific knowledge on wine selection is evident and suggestions made with confident statements.
  • Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions; learn guests’ names and preferences, connect with them individually and professionally.
  • Good communication with the casino floor bartenders.
  • Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Acts as a liaison between guests and beverage experience.
  • Acts with urgency at all times to minimize wait times; maintains a quick and purposeful pace. Meets and beats time and productivity standards.
  • Stays productive at all times (no congregating with other employees unless to briefly communicate information).
  • Stays informed of property promotions, programs and amenities.
  • Achieve a thorough understanding of beverage related products, services, menus and prices.
  • Complies with liquor laws and regulatory guidelines. Declines orders from those showing visible signs of intoxication, reports intoxication in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Clears dirtied glassware from occupied gaming tables and slot machines in a quick and timely manner.
  • Completes all side work in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure a clean, neat work area with adequate supply level.
  • Assists beverage ambassadors in taking drink orders as directed by a supervisor.
  • Maintains assigned multiple sections and workstations.
  • Complies with all company and departmental policies.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and hours to include holidays and weekends.
  • Relays any complaints, problems or positive remarks to shift supervisor.
  • Correctly performs all necessary paperwork and bookwork at shifts end.
  • Maintains confidential daily record keeping of tips.
  • Maintains a clean and stocked working space.
  • Attend all training meetings.
  • Act as a role model to other employees.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.
  • Provides alcohol service within the guidelines set forth by the MAST training program.
  • Provides a service of food within the guidelines set forth by the WA State Food Handlers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
