About The Position

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for guests. The server’s primary objective is to ensure guests have a marvelous time and want to return. The position is for the Hoover or 280 location.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of service experience.
• Ability to communicate in and understand the predominant language(s) of guests.
• Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a MICROS system.
• Ability to stand for long periods, up to 5 hours.
• Ability to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds, make them feel comfortable, and let them know you will personally take care of them.
• Introduce yourself to guests.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel guests will enjoy.
• Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
• Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the MICROS system, and double-check order accuracy.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner, including drink orders within one minute.
• Perform required side work at the start and end of each shift based on the service station assignment.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, such as napkins, drink refills, and appetizer plates.
• Build regular guests.
• Maintain clean service areas and pre-bus tables.
• Monitor guests’ dining experiences, ensure they are satisfied with the food and service, and respond promptly and courteously to requests.
• Prepare and present the final bill, accept payment, process credit card charges, and provide change when applicable.
• After dropping off the check, remain nearby and check back as soon as possible.
• Assist fellow servers as situations arise.
• Assist the bus person or hostess with clearing and resetting tables.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
