About The Position

The Bartender provides fresh, high-quality drinks with speedy service in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The role helps guests feel at home and encourages them to enjoy their time at the restaurant. Bartenders take the lead in the front of house to help ensure guests have a positive Big Whiskeys experience.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• At least 2 years of bartending experience.
• Ability to communicate in and understand the predominant language(s) of guests.
• Working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 5 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, introduce yourself, make beverage suggestions, and upsell beverages based on guests’ preferences.
• Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to the restaurant’s standard recipes.
• Learn regular guests’ names and recognize them personally.
• Enter drink orders accurately and promptly into the Micros system.
• Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and provide change when applicable.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Prepare drink garnishes and replenish snacks and appetizers for bar patrons.
• Arrange bottles and glasses attractively and functionally to support efficient drink preparation and beverage promotion.
• Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer beverage questions.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the bar, including counters, floors, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
• Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
• Report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
• Assist with restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies.
• Fill in as needed to support efficient restaurant operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Take the lead in the front of house to help ensure guests have a positive Big Whiskeys experience.
