About The Position

As a Server Systems Engineering Lead, you will lead enterprise IT integration, system testing, troubleshooting, engineering reviews, and technical documentation while guiding IT systems engineers in architecting, deploying, optimizing, and securing server platforms across Windows, Linux, virtualization, and cloud environments. You will serve as the primary technical authority for the systems engineering team, providing daily direction, implementation oversight, timely engineering decisions, and hands‑on mentoring to strengthen technical depth and performance across the group. In addition, you’ll act as an on‑site technical advisor to government clients, shaping system architecture, solution design, modernization strategy, and implementation planning for mission‑critical capabilities. This role leads the end‑to‑end Windows enterprise stack, including Active Directory and Entra hybrid identity, PKI and certificate services, MCM and VMWare, Microsoft Defender, and Azure Stack HCI clusters. You will set the technical direction and guide IT systems engineers in delivering secure, modernized infrastructure. Your leadership will drive Azure cloud modernization, virtualization, automation and IaC adoption, storage consolidation, and enterprise network modernization. Working alongside cross‑functional engineering teams, you’ll solve complex challenges while enhancing the security and resilience of the Navy’s mission‑critical server and network environment. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience architecting, designing, securing, installing, troubleshooting, and documenting Enterprise IT services with Windows Server
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams or serving as technical lead on an enterprise infrastructure program
  • Experience designing and operating Active Directory Domain Services at enterprise scale, including multi-site replication and Group Policy architecture
  • Experience with hybrid identity integration between AD DS and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience with enterprise endpoint management using MCM/SCCM, including OS deployment and software update management
  • Experience with server virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, and Windows PowerShell for automation and configuration management
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • CompTIA Security+ and Microsoft, RedHat, or Cisco Certifications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure Stack HCI or VxRail in a classified or OCONUS environment
  • Experience with enterprise PKI design and DoD PKI/CAC integration
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Identity at enterprise scale
  • Experience integrating Windows infrastructure with 802.1X/NAC platforms such as Cisco ISE or Forescout
  • Experience with Splunk or equivalent SIEM for infrastructure telemetry
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD for infrastructure, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience supporting Navy afloat or OCONUS network programs
  • Experience with Zero Trust reference architecture implementation
