About The Position

Server & Storage Technicians must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires accuracy, solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to clearly communicate status and issues. They are responsible for rigorously testing and configuring a variety of networking equipment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern business communication, specifically electronic communication
  • Ability to use a personal computer and various software packages including skills in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and retain technical information quickly
  • Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Demonstrates teaming behaviors including effective communication skills face-to-face, via email, and on the phone
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and as part of a team, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Basic Knowledge of testing methodology, topology, cabling plant
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-year Knowledge of modern warehouse procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping
  • 1-year industry experience with IT networking hardware or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-year experience with CATOS-based fixed configuration switches (i.e. 2948G)

Nice To Haves

  • Two to four-year college degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Tests networking, server and storage products to all order specifications
  • Advanced testing and complex configuration of Cisco, Juniper and other networking equipment
  • Complex assembly and diagnostics
  • Properly rebinning equipment to appropriate locations within Operations
  • Proper and efficient testing of all incoming gear.
  • Using Tech Work Space and tech logging all testing output.
  • Interfaces with Shipping, Receiving, Repair, Material Control, and Sales
  • Takes phone or visitor messages and delivers to appropriate individual
  • Accurately inputs information into inventory management program
  • Learns and uses test equipment
  • Maintains safe, clean and organized work space
  • Composes and types routine correspondence and memoranda using word processing software
  • Compiles and types statistical reports including tables and text using spreadsheet software
  • Performs other related duties as required
