Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in a bar, lounge, or full service restaurant.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Being able to effectively maintain working relationships with staff and other departments.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of Martorano’s rules, policies and procedures.
  • Must possess the disposition to have fun at work and display that spirit to our guests.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in setting up mis-en-place.
  • Helps the server to organize all necessary equipment (wine buckets, flatware, and condiments).
  • Ensures that tables are properly maintained at all times.
  • Is consistently aware of progress of tables in dining room.
  • Responsible for assisting in the delivering of food and beverage to correct tables at correct time in the correct manner, using seat position numbers.
  • Serves water, beverages refills as needed or directed.
  • Is knowledgeable and able to respond to all guest inquiries in an accurate and professional manner, as well as being able to communicate efficiently with all team members.
  • Any request made by a guest that you can satisfy should be taken care of immediately. Any request that you cannot satisfy, contact the appropriate server immediately.
  • Be sure all food delivered is garnished correctly and has the proper condiments.
  • Provides quality service to both internal and external guests, specifically maintaining established quality standards for timely food and beverage.
  • Follows Martorano’s standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting with the proper verbiage: “Good morning, afternoon, or evening, thank you, ma’am or sir, may I?”
  • Clears courses in appropriate fashion and replenishes bread as needed.
  • Upon meal completion, ensures that table is cleared of all unnecessary items.
  • Crumbs table with a crumber or napkin after clearing all plates or as needed.
  • Polishes glassware, silverware, plates throughout shift.
  • Maintains Martorano’s uniform in good condition and reports to work in authorized uniform as mandated by Martorano’s. This includes maintaining a clean and well-groomed appearance in compliance with Martorano’s dress code standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.
