About The Position

Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is seeking a Server I/O Technical Project Manager (TPM) for the ThinkSystem Development organization in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role is crucial for leading the Server I/O development team in new product introduction and ongoing sustainment engineering. The products managed include Networking, GPU, HDD/SSD, and RAID/HBA technologies. The TPM will coordinate and plan executive reviews with I/O partners, and will be responsible for planning, sizing, and project definition in collaboration with I/O vendors and Architects. This position involves working with local and global I/O engineers and project managers in Beijing and Taipei. Key responsibilities include project schedule planning, resource and expense sizing, expense order management, expense tracking, and hardware shipment management. The ThinkSystem portfolio offers exposure to the latest storage technologies, and the candidate will be an active member of a motivated development team focused on solving technical challenges and shaping future server designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar degree
  • 10+ years of in-depth experience in server/storage development
  • 10+ years of project management execution
  • Experience in leading engineers/team wrt technical project execution and product development
  • Strong organizational skills to lead server I/O project management across cross functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a variety of tasks, including customer engagements, partner negotiation and management/executive project status updates

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of development experience including project management
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience with projects including server hardware, firmware and software
  • Demonstrated leadership on a project with engineering team members located in multiple geographies
  • Business acumen to engage with various functional teams required to take projects from concept to production
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills

Responsibilities
