About The Position

The Waterford is seeking a part-time Server/Host to join their team. This role is crucial in providing a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for residents, ensuring exemplary customer service in the dining room. The Server/Host will greet residents, assist them to their seats, manage walkers, pour beverages, bus and set tables, and handle room service orders. Additionally, they will contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the dining room and serving areas. The Waterford is a respected leader in senior living in South Delta, part of Bria Communities, a local, private company operating four vibrant retirement communities.

Requirements

Level 1 Food Safe is required
Serving it Right is required
Minimum 1 year serving experience
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Passion for helping seniors & providing excellent service
Strong communication & interpersonal skills, both written and oral
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Must demonstrate a positive and team-oriented attitude
Must work well within a team environment
Must be able to work with minimal supervision & have strong initiative
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to safely & efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties required for the position

Responsibilities

Ensuring the Room Service cart is ready and delivered promptly and professionally.
Greeting residents at the entrance with a smile, cheerfully assisting them to their desired table, removing and storing walkers, and returning them when residents are ready to leave.
Pouring beverages and running food from the kitchen.
Bussing and cleaning/sanitizing tables in all sections.
Setting tables meticulously and communicating to the appropriate server when residents are seated in their section.
Serving parties in the private dining room when booked, responsible for all their requests, beverages, food, etc.
Assisting sections with cleaning and closing duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, washing tables and chairs, and putting away clean dishes, cutlery, and glassware.
Maintaining a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and strong communication in the dining room.
Performing all other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef & Sous Chef.
