About The Position

The Experienced Server & Bartender provides exceptional member and guest service in the Club’s dining areas. This position ensures a polished and welcoming experience through professional service, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality. Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of serving and bartending experience in fine dining, private club, or resort settings, with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of serving experience in a fine dining, private club, or hospitality setting required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and mixology techniques
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe or TIPS certification preferred.
  • Prior bartending experience in a private club, restaurant, or upscale hospitality setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide range of classic and specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Engage members and guests in a professional, welcoming manner while remembering preferences and building rapport
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area and adhere to safe alcohol service practices
  • Set up assigned side stations and complete opening and closing duties as directed.
  • Greet members and guests promptly upon seating, providing immediate attention and friendly, professional service.
  • Present menus, answer questions, and make knowledgeable recommendations regarding daily specials, wines, and menu pairings.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately, entering them promptly and communicating special instructions to kitchen staff.
  • Serve meals and beverages efficiently, following established service standards for pacing, presentation, and sequence of service.
  • Check back with members and guests to ensure satisfaction, replenishing beverages and items as needed.
  • Clear tables after each course, reset with appropriate silverware, and maintain cleanliness in the dining and service areas.
  • Present dessert menus and suggest dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
  • Accurately verify prices, account numbers, and member names for billing; process payments, credit cards, and member charges per Club procedures.
  • Maintain accurate tip records and complete required reports.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and follow direction from management.
  • Report any member or guest concerns immediately to the Dining Room Manager.
  • Consistently comply with local and state alcohol service laws and Lafayette Club policies regarding the responsible service of alcohol.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Dining Room Manager.
