About The Position

Toro Chicago, by Richard Sandoval, offers a lively Latin American dining experience featuring small plates, a Suviche (sushi and ceviche) bar, hand-muddled cocktails, Latin wines, and tequila and agave-based spirits. The Server Assistant supports the Food & Beverage team and helps create a memorable guest experience by providing attentive service and preparing and maintaining the dining area.

The role requires availability for flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The position pays $15.45 per hour and is tip eligible. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Previous Food & Beverage experience is an asset but is not required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift; frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds; and occasionally kneel, push, pull, and lift.

Responsibilities

• Offer guests a consistently professional, friendly greeting and engaging service.
• Provide support to servers and assist them in as many ways as possible.
• Carry food from the kitchen to guest tables with grace, precision, and speed.
• Carry a tray and tray jack weighing up to 30 pounds at a swift pace.
• Clear tables when guests have finished and coordinate with other front-of-house team members to ensure help is available.
• Set tables in the assigned section flawlessly and check that table settings, alignment, chairs, and candle holders are in order.
• Stock side stations and maintain appropriate par levels of silverware, glassware, napkins, share plates, marking trays, and condiments throughout service.
• Maintain guest water levels and remember which guests at each table are drinking which type of water.
• Complete assigned side work before, during, and after the shift.
• Follow brand policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
• Follow the hotel time and attendance policy and grooming and attire guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
