About The Position

The Tillery Restaurant & Lounge is seeking a part-time Server Assistant to join their team, available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This role is an opportunity to gain experience in the restaurant industry and contribute to an excellent dining experience. The Tillery, located in the new Marriott Owings Mills, is an upscale American restaurant and bar offering a modern and intimate dining experience with a 'Farm to Centre' concept, emphasizing local hospitality and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant blends traditional fare with culinary innovation, suitable for various occasions from post-work gatherings to celebratory escapes.

Requirements

Available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Must meet state legal age requirements
Must speak fluent English

Responsibilities

Setting tables
Serving food orders
Removing used dishes and utensils
Cleaning off all plate and glassware from tables that have left
Re-setting tables properly and ensuring they are clean
Ensuring chairs and floor area around the table are clean
Bringing all dishware to the dish area for cleaning
Re-stocking service stands
Delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
Acting as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
Communicating food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
Ensuring the beverage station is full (coffee, tea etc.)
Emptying trash, bringing clean glassware to the bar area, getting ice, bringing linen, and folding napkins
Answering guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
Informing restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
Ensuring families with young children get kids menus and special silverware sets
