About The Position

The Server Assistant position is the introduction to our Nobu restaurant family. This is how we train the fundamental skills needed to jumpstart your Nobu career. We promote from within at every opportunity so this position is the first step in building a future with our brand.

Requirements

• Possess a basic understanding of menu items
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding, including describing complex menu items and their ingredients.
• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum amount of supervision.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers
• Must meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years old
• Must possess a valid Food Handler Card

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as Busser/Server Assistant is preferred, ideally in a fast-paced, upscale environment.
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability.

Responsibilities

• Setting and resetting all tables
• Stocking all service stations
• Providing clean share plates for each course
• Helping to manage the water levels for our guests
• Proper table maintenance
• Learning the menu items and meeting the minimum “1 test per week” standard
• Running dishes and explaining Chef’s enjoying instructions plus ingredients
• Running beverages
• Supporting the Bartenders and Servers with the proper service of all guests
