About The Position

The Stadium Club server assistant must maintain clear communication with and make themselves available to the server(s). He/she must be sensitive to the needs of the members/guests throughout the Stadium Club. Remember to operate as a team, ask for help when you need it and offer help whenever it is needed. The server assistant must respect fellow employees and promote a sense of camaraderie with one another, as teamwork and gracious hospitality are hallmarks of our club.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, member relations and etiquette
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, record orders, communicate with members and guests to explain all their offerings and accommodate special requests
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
  • Ability to move throughout a crowded dining room to attend to guests
  • Ability to effectively deal with member and guest complaints and concerns in a courteous and professional manner. This involves carefully listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy and providing a positive, proactive solution.
  • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
  • Ability to obtain any Club required certification or licenses. Example: TIPs on premise certifications or a State of Michigan food handler’s card.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospitality experience (Full service dining specifically) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to your position at your scheduled time, in proper uniform, professional, and properly groomed
  • Understand and practice the DAC attendance policy
  • Communicate to the Stadium Club manager or supervisor your arrival. Afterword’s, locate your assignment(s) opening and closing duties, and discuss any last minute changes.
  • Ensure the dining room is set and ready 15 minutes prior to start of the meal period, having all of the opening sidework complete. Also confirm room is fully functional.
  • Report any maintenance or housekeeping issues to management.
  • Attend all required meetings which includes lineups in the Stadium Club, pre-function meetings, PEP meetings, and any other training related meetings
  • Be on the floor 15 minutes prior to the start of a meal period fully knowledgeable of regular menu items as well as any specials with a friendly and professional disposition
  • Deliver continuous, timely and impeccable service throughout the shift
  • Assist the servers in expediting requests immediately and effectively. Respond to all member requests quickly and efficiently
  • Practice the Greeting S&P with all members and guests
  • Display teamwork and camaraderie within their department and with other DAC staff members.
  • Maintain proper and timely communication with service staff and the supervisory team
  • Assist in setting the dining room(s) for the next shift or day
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations
  • Expedite food, run food and clear plates to and from the kitchen
  • Have full knowledge along with an understanding of the House Rules and be prepared to professionally report any infractions to your management team
  • Maintain an open line of communication between members and their guests, management and line employees.
  • Assist in the training of newly hired employees.
