About The Position

Pier Sixty-Six Resort, a luxury resort in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking a Server Assistant/Food Runner to join their team. This role is integral to creating distinctively different and authentic guest experiences by greeting guests, running food orders, maintaining outlet cleanliness, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Server Assistant/Food Runner will support restaurant operations, contributing to the seamless flow of the dining experience through cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Set and maintain tables according to established standards, ensuring they are clean, properly arranged, and fully equipped with necessary items such as utensils, glassware, and condiments.
  • Support servers by clearing and resetting tables promptly, removing used dishes, glassware, and utensils, and replenishing supplies as needed to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting with any requests or inquiries they may have and ensuring their needs are addressed to enhance their dining experience.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining area, including floors, furniture, and fixtures, to uphold high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Work closely with restaurant servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to coordinate table turnover, communicate guest needs, and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Assist with beverage service, including refilling water glasses and delivering beverages to tables, to support the overall service flow and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of table setup and maintenance, ensuring that tables are impeccably presented, and guest expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Adhere to all resort policies, procedures, and hygiene standards, including food safety guidelines, to maintain a safe and sanitary dining environment for guests and staff.
  • Participate in updated training for the bar and menu items.
  • Notify Supervisors immediately of any product shortages or out-of-stock items.
  • Have a working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a keg.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to resort standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  • Speak with others using a clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Deliver food to guests promptly, accurately, and according to established service standards.
  • Verify all food leaving the kitchen for accuracy, presentation, and proper modifications before delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen, servers, bartenders, and management to ensure seamless service.
  • Announce and describe dishes to guests upon delivery when appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of expo stations, service areas, and dining room.
  • Ensure all food is handled safely and in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor ticket times and assist in maintaining efficient food flow from the kitchen to the dining room.
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook.
