About The Position

The Serology Lab Technician is responsible for testing blood and other samples. This role involves setting up and running lab tests, reading and releasing test results, and maintaining proficiency with the IFA microscope. The technician will also be responsible for completing Coggins Federal forms as required by the USDA, assisting with training, checking supply inventory, and performing equipment maintenance. The position requires exercising judgment in evaluating and reporting results, consulting with senior peers on non-complex tasks, and performing other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments.
  • General science background
  • Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid communication skills- written and verbal
  • Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written direction
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
  • Required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to observe details at close range
  • Works under close to moderate supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 2- or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred.
  • Prior lab experience referred
