About The Position

This role is for a 1st Shift Sequencing Team Lead in a Tier 1 Automotive environment. The position involves leading a team, ensuring quality standards, managing production flow, and supporting supervisory functions. Key responsibilities include sequencing parts, maintaining a clean work area, performing assembly tasks, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The role also involves coaching and developing employees, assisting with scheduling, and resolving production issues.

Requirements

  • Always practice Safety protocols (including LOTO, and PPE)
  • Be able to identify quality issues and address each issue appropriately
  • Have strong problem-solving capabilities, prioritize activities to coordinate with customer requirements
  • Be able to perform and coordinate scheduled tool changes efficiently
  • Sequence parts according to part number
  • Maintain the manufacturing work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Basic to complex assembly of parts
  • Ensure car parts meet the established standards of quality
  • Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards, conduct and monitor inspection of materials to ensure finished product quality
  • Ordering HOT doors and sometimes delivering them to GM in their personal vehicle
  • Held accountable when numbers start dropping down due to having door shortages
  • Rotate with supervisor on weekends to conduct door auditing and housekeeping of the sequencing and carpet area
  • Must be on time for shift meetings for pass downs
  • Help conduct team meetings
  • Help on the cherry pickers and forklift drivers when falling behind
  • Make sure that everyone is wearing their PPE at all times check all of the cherry pickers, forklift drivers are conducting their forklift checklist
  • Help in getting empties from racks and making sure to fill with new full racks
  • Responsible for line check lists
  • Work closely on the floor with all levels of manufacturing team members
  • Coaching and developing employees to ensure the right talent has all the necessary tools to succeed
  • Responsible for providing guidance to employees on the floor and serves as back-up to the supervisor as needed
  • Provides on-the-job skills and quality standards training to both new and seasoned employees to ensure that learning and self-development opportunities exist for production staff
  • Must be team oriented by actively promoting and participating in a team-based environment
  • Work closely with management to ensure staffing target is met monthly to run the lines
  • Attend the production floor to address issues impacting efficiencies and resolve any shortcomings
  • Assist management with the development of weekly work schedules and crew assignments
  • Ability to think quickly, creatively and challenge team members to do the same
  • Ensures work areas are properly maintained
  • Enforce safety policies and assure all employees have the required PPE when working in the production floor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
