About The Position

American Septic, a division of American Rooter & Drain, is seeking an experienced septic installer who can manage a job from start to finish. The company is experiencing rapid growth and is installing septic systems across the Treasure Valley and into Eastern Oregon. This role offers the opportunity to run your own jobs, work directly with homeowners and inspectors, and make on-site decisions. The position is full-time with year-round work available.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience installing septic systems.
  • Solid experience operating excavators and skid steers in tight residential spaces.
  • Ability to read site plans and independently set grade.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record sufficient to drive company trucks.
  • Willingness to work outdoors year-round and start early.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Idaho health district installer license or Oregon DEQ license.
  • Class A or B CDL.
  • Experience with pressure-distribution or mound systems.
  • Experience with pumps, floats, and control panels.
  • OSHA 10/30 or trench competent-person training.

Responsibilities

  • Install complete septic systems, including tanks, drainfields, pump stations, D-boxes, and sewer laterals.
  • Operate excavators, skid steers, and trenchers on residential sites.
  • Set grade according to plans and permits, ensuring accuracy.
  • Repair and replace failed septic systems, such as saturated fields, collapsed lines, and faulty tanks/baffles.
  • Coordinate with the health district and be prepared for inspector visits.
  • Restore job sites to customer satisfaction.
  • Direct helpers and manage job progress to keep the project moving efficiently.
