About The Position

We’re seeking a highly organized and forward-thinking SEO Team Lead to manage a team of SEO professionals serving Inhabit’s short-term rentals brands. This client-facing role is essential in documenting and refining existing workflows, standardizing SEO practices, and developing innovative processes to support scale, efficiency, and results across all SEO accounts. Clients who work with Inhabit for their SEO services seek higher ranking on Google to generate short-term rentals bookings, partner with more short-term rental owners, and increase their visibility online. Our clients also trust them to help them navigate the emerging world of AI-driven search. The ideal candidate is an experienced SEO professional who thrives on building structure, improving systems, and coaching others toward success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of agency or in-house SEO experience
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SE Ranking, Moz, or Semrush.
  • Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and Looker Studio or equivalent marketing analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of SEO specialists and account managers, ensuring timely delivery of client deliverables and improvements in SEO results.
  • Document SEO processes by eliminating outdated information and keeping resources up to date with current SEO best practices and operational changes.
  • Make recommendations to the SEO Director for eliminating unnecessary tasks, resources, and tools.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the SEO team, enabling team members to take ownership of their goals and challenges with support from management.
  • Recommend team members for additional responsibilities and opportunities within Inhabit.
  • Manage own portfolio of SEO campaigns, including on-page optimizations, off-page link building and citations, keyword research, content editing, and client communications.
  • Work with other SEO Leads and team members across Inhabit’s short-term rental digital marketing brands to share and implement winning campaign strategies.
  • Support the SEO Director in researching and testing new tasks and strategies for positive client outcomes on AI-generated search platforms, such as Google’s AI Overviews, Google’s AI Mode, Bing Copilot, Perplexity, and ChatGPT.
  • Ensure team executes on SEO changes needed after Google core algorithm updates.
  • Support the content marketing manager and content team members with cross-training opportunities.
  • Support strategic account managers with client remediation and retention efforts.
  • Troubleshoot common issues with Google Analytics (GA4) and other tracking platforms.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for SEO topics and functions, such as meta tags, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, page speed issues (CWV and other benchmarks), http response codes (e.g. 301, 302, 307, 403, 404, 5xx), HTML page structure, LSI, web-friendly image formats (e.g. webp), keyword research, topic clustering, query fanout, query parameters, page headers, link-building, and content production.
