About The Position

space150 is seeking an SEO & CRO Manager to lead the evolution of marketing website visibility for humans, search engines, and LLMs. This role involves being the agency's senior authority on organic search across a diverse client roster, setting strategy, owning technical SEO, collaborating with paid media, measuring impact, presenting to clients, and supporting new business pitches. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEO, web analytics, and CRO, with the ability to design and implement tests to improve website performance. A key aspect of this role is the proficient use of AI tools for tasks such as data analysis, backlog prioritization, and recommendation testing. The manager will work within senior, accountable teams alongside media, analytics, and engineering professionals at space150, and collaborate directly with clients and partners.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years in SEO and/or CRO, with significant experience in an agency or multi-brand environment.
  • Website Technical Expertise: structured data, log file analysis, Core Web Vitals, site migrations, indexation troubleshooting, CMS and Front-End Literacy.
  • Analytics/Tagging Fluency: GA4, Google Search Console, GTM.
  • Bonus: SQL, BigQuery, Looker Studio, or PowerBI.
  • Shopify Software Lifecycle tooling is a plus for integration with the engineering team (Git workflows, PR process).
  • CRO Expertise: experiment design, sample size and significance, and tools like VWO, Optimizely, Convert, Hotjar, or similar.
  • SEO Tool Proficiency: Ahrefs and/or Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center.
  • Comfort in a terminal, with an API, or with an agentic coding tool is valued over a CS degree.
  • Ability to verify AI outputs rigorously and trace data back to its source.

Responsibilities

  • Own organic search strategy end to end for a portfolio of clients, including technical audits, information architecture, on-page optimization, internal linking, content roadmaps, and measurement.
  • Run technical SEO diagnostics and translate them into prioritized, developer-ready backlogs.
  • Partner with engineering and web teams to implement SEO fixes.
  • Develop keyword and topic strategy grounded in commercial intent and search demand.
  • Build and own a point of view on AI search visibility (AI Overviews, LLM citation, AEO/GEO) and advise clients on changes and what is measurable.
  • Manage the organic search tool stack and make recommendations for licensing.
  • Own organic performance measurement using GA4, Google Search Console, Looker/Looker Studio, and server-side/GTM tagging.
  • Build reporting that connects organic visibility to business outcomes like qualified leads, revenue, and LTV.
  • Partner with the analytics team on cross-channel attribution, especially where organic and paid search overlap.
  • Audit conversion paths on client sites and identify friction points.
  • Design and run experiments (A/B, multivariate, UX) in partnership with UX, creative, and development teams.
  • Advise on messaging, CTAs, form design, and content placement based on behavioral data.
  • Apply a testing discipline with clear hypotheses, honest reads, and documented learnings.
  • Use frontier AI platforms (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI stack) as core daily infrastructure for tasks like data analysis, backlog creation, and recommendation testing.
  • Build custom tooling for tasks such as crawl parsing, log file analysis, SERP monitoring, structured data validation, and competitive tracking.
  • Automate repetitive tasks rather than budgeting hours for them.
  • Verify AI outputs rigorously, spotting hallucinations and tracing numbers back to their source.
  • Share prompts, workflows, and tools internally to raise the team's AI proficiency.
  • Help set the standard for responsible AI use in client work, considering data privacy and regulated content.
  • Provide a practitioner's perspective on the future of AI in search and discovery.
  • Serve as the senior organic search voice in client meetings, presenting findings, defending recommendations, and handling pushback.
  • Contribute to pitches, RFP responses, and scoping.
  • Help package and price SEO, GEO, and CRO as sellable services.
  • Establish internal standards, templates, and QA processes for organic work agency-wide.
