About The Position

Nexvel Solutions is seeking a versatile SEO content writer and strategist with a strong understanding of local SEO. The ideal candidate will not only write well but also understand how web pages achieve rankings and generate leads. They should be able to adapt their writing style across different industries and contribute to content strategy decisions, including topic clusters, editorial calendars, and content gap analysis. This role involves producing various types of content such as homepages, service pages, location pages, and blog posts, while also helping to develop content strategy based on provided briefs and keyword targets. The position is for ongoing freelance work with consistent volume and potential for growth, seeking a long-term collaborator.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in SEO content writing, with hands-on experience in content strategy development.
• Proven ability to plan content (topic clusters, editorial calendars, prioritization), not just execute briefs.
• Solid understanding of local SEO, including keyword intent, service × location page strategy, internal linking, and heading structure.
• Proficiency with AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for idea generation and self-checking, with the ability to direct, verify, and edit AI output.
• Versatility in writing across different industries and adapting to various brand voices.
• Comfort with both short-form and long-form content creation.
• Clear, jargon-free writing style with strong self-editing skills and excellent grammar.
• Reliable communication and ability to work effectively from briefs and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable conducting client interviews, asking follow-up questions, and translating client input into content.
• Strong keyword and topic research skills, including building keyword/topic plans (experience with Ahrefs/SEMrush/Google Keyword Planner is a plus).
• Local to the Elkins Park, PA area to attend in-office collaboration days.
• Ability to track hours using Hubstaff.

Responsibilities

• Write SEO-optimized web pages: homepages, service pages, and location/service-area pages.
• Write both short-form and long-form content, including concise, conversion-focused pages and in-depth blog posts, guides, and pillar articles.
• Transform content briefs (target keyword, audience, key points) into natural-sounding, high-ranking copy.
• Structure content with proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2/H3s) and on-page SEO fundamentals.
• Adapt writing voice to suit different clients and industries (e.g., plain-spoken for contractors, warm for dentists, credible for lawyers).
• Assist in developing content strategy, including mapping topic clusters, planning editorial/blog calendars, and conducting content gap analysis.
• Recommend content creation based on search intent, customer journey, and client business goals.
• Conduct client interviews to gather source material, extract expertise, and capture authentic voice for content creation.
• Quickly research unfamiliar industries and write about them with authority and accuracy.
• Create locally-relevant content, incorporating neighborhood and regional specifics.
• Draft meta titles, meta descriptions, and FAQ sections optimized for featured snippets and AI search.
• Revise content based on feedback and consistently meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with the team on a designated office day each week.
