FloSports is a world-class sports media company strategically positioned to be the essential destination for passionate sports fans, delighting them with live event coverage, breaking news, highlights, stats, rankings, and team and player profiles. We are growing Our Sports every day by continuing to invest in our ever-expanding ecosystem, which consists of over a dozen sport verticals and hundreds of streaming partners. FloSports is creating the home for college conferences/leagues and sports like grappling, hockey, track & field, racing, cheer, wrestling, and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us! We do that by creating content that puts a spotlight on the teams, athletes, events and sports that stream on our platform every day — helping passionate fans find what they love while introducing new audiences to the sports we cover. Search and discovery are a major part of that mission. As the way fans find information evolves beyond traditional search engines and into AI-powered search and answer platforms, we want FloSports — and the sports, teams and athletes on our platform — to be part of those answers. We’re looking for a sports nerd who understands how great digital sports content gets discovered and knows how to create it. Whether it's Google Search, Google Discover, AI-powered search experiences, answer engines or the next platform changing how fans find information, this role will help ensure FloSports content reaches the right audience. This position will work across the FloSports network, partnering with editors, content creators and audience development leaders across our sports verticals to grow organic audiences, create compelling content and help develop and execute FloSports' Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy.

Requirements

Has at least four years of experience in digital publishing and content creation.
Has experience producing content in a fast-paced digital environment.
Has experience in digital journalism, sports media, audience development, SEO or content strategy.
Has a strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and organic search.
Is interested in AEO, generative AI and the changing way audiences discover information online.
Understands how to identify search intent and turn it into useful, engaging content.
Can recognize the difference between content that generates traffic and content that can generate meaningful fan engagement and subscription value.
Has strong writing, headline-writing, editing and copy-editing skills.
Is comfortable working with analytics, keyword research and SEO platforms.
Can work quickly during live sports and breaking-news situations.
Is comfortable collaborating with multiple editorial teams and sports verticals.
Can explain SEO and AEO concepts to editors and producers who may not specialize in audience development.
Is curious, analytical and willing to experiment as search and AI discovery continue to evolve.
Loves sports and wants to help teams, athletes and sports reach bigger audiences.

Nice To Haves

Experience working for a sports publisher, digital newsroom or live sports organization.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Trends, SEMrush or similar SEO platforms.
Experience using analytics to develop or adjust editorial strategy.
Experience building search-focused evergreen content.
Familiarity with structured data, schema markup and technical SEO concepts.
Experience tracking content performance across Google Discover or other recommendation platforms.
Familiarity with AI-powered search platforms and emerging AEO/GEO strategies.
Experience covering live sporting events or producing real-time digital content.
Knowledge across multiple sports — especially the kind of sports knowledge that makes your friends wonder why you know that much about it.

Responsibilities

Create content that helps Grow Our Sports Every Day, promoting and telling the stories of the teams, athletes, events and sports streaming across FloSports.
Help develop and execute SEO and AEO strategies across FloSports' portfolio of sports verticals.
Produce timely, engaging and search-focused digital content around the sports and events FloSports streams.
Work directly with vertical teams to identify search opportunities around breaking news, live events, tentpole competitions and evergreen sports topics.
Develop strategies designed to increase FloSports visibility across traditional search engines, AI-powered search and answer engines.
Research how fans are searching for and asking questions about sports, athletes, teams, events, schedules, results and streaming information.
Identify content opportunities through keyword research, search trends, competitive analysis and audience behavior.
Build and optimize content designed to rank highly in organic search while also being authoritative, useful and easily understood and cited by answer engines.
Help establish AEO best practices, workflows and editorial standards that can be deployed across FloSports.
Work with editors and producers to improve headlines, page titles, metadata, internal linking, article structure and other on-page SEO elements.
Develop evergreen content strategies that build topical authority around FloSports' sports, leagues, teams, athletes and events.
Identify opportunities surrounding major events where search demand, fan interest and subscription intent are highest.
Monitor search rankings, traffic, click-through rates and other organic performance metrics.
Track FloSports visibility and citations within AI search and answer platforms as the ecosystem develops.
Analyze performance and turn data into actionable recommendations for editorial teams.
Stay current on search algorithm changes, AI search developments and emerging audience acquisition trends.
Produce digital content during major live sporting events and react quickly to breaking news and emerging search opportunities.
Help educate editors, writers and producers across FloSports on SEO and AEO best practices.
