About The Position

Under the supervision of the Club Director, the Senior YDP will assist with successful planning, developing, and implementation of programs and services to achieve the Formula for Impact for Club members. The Senior YDP will also act as a mentor to new Youth Development Professionals (YDP).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; some college or college degree preferred.
• 2-3 years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Group leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics.
• Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
• Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay.
• Demonstration of the ability to communicate with different groups.
• Successful supervisory experience.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days of employment.
• Must have or complete 40hrs of training in DCF within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Register new members and participate in the club orientation process.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for club members and visitors.
• Prepare lesson plans and various activities for members to engage in to promote diverse programming daily.
• Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Club.
