About The Position

The Senior Workday Specialist is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system and related modules. This role serves as the organization’s senior Workday functional and technical resource, partnering with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, external vendors, and business leaders to ensure Workday supports operational needs, compliance requirements, data integrity, and an effective employee and manager experience. The Senior Workday Specialist leads system enhancements, security administration, business process optimization, reporting, integrations, testing, tenant management, release management, and documentation. This position also mentors team members, supports complex projects, and provides strategic recommendations to maximize the organization’s investment in Workday.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday administration, configuration, implementation, or production support experience.
  • Advanced expertise in Workday HCM, security, reporting, integrations, and configuration across multiple modules.
  • Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Compensation, Talent, Time Tracking, Absence, and related business processes.
  • Proven experience leading Workday enhancements, releases, testing, change management, and cross-functional projects.
  • Experience developing advanced reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and data-driven insights.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday HCM and related modules, including Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Learning, Absence, and Time Tracking.
  • Manage Workday business processes, calculated fields, validations, notifications, and system configurations to support organizational needs.
  • Design, administer, and audit Workday security architecture, ensuring compliance, data protection, and appropriate user access.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced user experience.
  • Lead Workday enhancements and projects through requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, training, and post-implementation support.
  • Manage Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, stakeholder communication, and implementation of new functionality.
  • Develop and maintain advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics, providing actionable workforce insights while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and enhance integrations between Workday and third-party applications, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex Workday issues and provide expert guidance on system capabilities, best practices, and governance.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, training materials, and knowledge resources, delivering training and support to end users and administrators.
