About The Position

The primary focus of this position is to provide expert technical administration and product-oriented support for Workday, JM Family’s Human Capital Management (HCM) system. In this role, you will act as a Sr. Workday Product Administrator and a trusted consultative partner to HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), IT, and business leaders. You will operate within an Agile, product-centric delivery model —helping teams continuously deliver measurable value through iterative enhancements, stable operations, and disciplined release execution.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration, support and administration experience in Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Security and HCM Core.
  • Proficiency with Workday tools and technologies such as Report Writer, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) and Customer Central Object Transporter.
  • Experience working in an Agile product model: backlog refinement, user stories, iterative delivery, and participation in ceremonies
  • Strong consultative and communication skills: ability to articulate complex topics to varied audiences and influence decisions through data and options.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technology work to business priorities and product roadmaps; effective planning, risk monitoring, and mitigation in a fast-paced environment.
  • High integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive HR data.

Nice To Haves

  • Workday training and certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Workday, ensuring stability, usability, and scalability.
  • Serve as the senior product administrator for Workday HCM, setting configuration standards, driving governance, and collaborating with the product team.
  • Work as an embedded member of a cross-functional Workday product team in an Agile product model, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Partner with the Product Owner/Product Manager and HR COEs to translate business needs into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and a prioritized product backlog that maximizes value realization.
  • Execute and govern mass data uploads and changes using EIBs (including quality checks, controls, and auditability).
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support: triage incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, coordinate resolution, and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
  • Drive automation and reduction of manual processes; identify technical debt and improvement opportunities and deliver solutions iteratively.
  • Own release readiness for Workday updates and feature deployments: plan, test, validate, coordinate cutover, and support to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation: system functionality, business process configuration, security design, data flows/integrations, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Evaluate feasibility of modifications/enhancements, balancing risk, dependencies, compliance, and value; advise on options and recommended approaches.
  • Ensure adherence to defined technical standards, security, and data privacy requirements; maintain role-based access and security administration best practices.
  • Stay current on Workday capabilities, releases, and best practices; bring recommendations that improve associate experience and operational efficiency.
