As a Senior Workday Integrations Engineer on the People Technology team, you will play a critical role in making our global technology vision a reality. You will design, build, maintain, and support the connections that allow data to move securely across our People systems—connecting Workday with payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, identity management, and other enterprise platforms. This role balances strategic integration engineering with operational ownership. You’ll serve as a key technical resource to build scalable new capabilities while strengthening the stability of our existing ecosystem through better monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting Workday integrations in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Core Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, Workday Web Services, RaaS, calculated fields, and custom reporting.
  • Data Protocols & Formats: Working knowledge of REST, SOAP, XML, XSLT, JSON, WSDL, XPath, SFTP, and HTTPS.
  • Security & Auth Standards: Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, SAML, SSL/TLS, and PGP encryption.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a track record of troubleshooting production integrations via ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Domain Context: Solid understanding of core HR functional areas (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time & Attendance).

Nice To Haves

  • Workday Pro Certification in Integrations.
  • Experience with Workday Extend or Workday Prism Analytics.
  • Hands-on exposure to IPaaS / middleware platforms like Boomi or MuleSoft.
  • Familiarity with adjacent tech stacks: Greenhouse, ServiceNow, CloudPay, ADP, Okta, or NetSuite.
  • Background supporting People Technology in a fast-paced, high-growth, or global matrix environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Build: Develop, test, and deploy scalable Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, and Web Services.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with People, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Finance, IT, and Security to translate business needs into robust technical designs and data mappings.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead integrations through their full lifecycle—from initial discovery and architecture through testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage the integration service queue, driving root-cause analysis on production failures to continuously reduce technical debt and manual fixes.
  • Health & Governance: Enhance alerting, logging, error handling, and release testing (including Workday biannual updates) to proactively catch issues before they impact business operations.
  • Technical Leadership: Create clear documentation (runbooks, integration specs, data flow diagrams) and mentor peers on integration standards and best practices.
