About The Position

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Senior Work Control Planner to support ongoing operations in Aiken, SC. Develop and/or review of large and complex work packages including written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance or modification work activities within a given area. May include separately or in conjunction with work control development, recommendations and instruction for mechanical, electrical, radiological, and chemical energy and systems control lockout and tagout, and/or resolving work package restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
  • The ability to understand and interpret various electrical and mechanical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics is required.
  • Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work planning activities is required.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of teams, set and meet goals and objectives and prioritize work is important.
  • A working knowledge of DOE, Federal and state regulations as well as existing engineering and quality assurance standards and procedures is required.
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of site work control procedures and work practices, radiological control, quality assurance, configuration management, material control and procedures for both maintenance and operations related areas.
  • Requires a thorough understanding from a conceptual level of various processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration and lockout point identification.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred.
  • Previous DOE/NNSA work experience.
  • Previous SRS or DOE facility experience is preferred.
  • Previous SRS or DOE facility work planner experience within the last 3 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or review of large and complex work packages including written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance or modification work activities within a given area.
  • May include separately or in conjunction with work control development, recommendations and instruction for mechanical, electrical, radiological, and chemical energy and systems control lockout and tagout, and/or resolving work package restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.
  • Prepare, review and issue large and/or complex equipment and/or system modification work packages.
  • Review understanding and interpretation of various engineering, design, technical and vendor prints, drawings, schematics, documents, diagrams, and specifications to ensure design information sufficient to develop modifications for electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Development may also include a physical walkdown of the area or system to identify potentially hazardous conditions or configuration anomalies.
  • Provide work control package technical review for quality and consistency as well as provide work guidance and instruction to other work control personnel in a lead or coordinating capacity.
  • Analyze time and material requirements for work activity.
  • Prepare, review and issue corrective maintenance work packages.
  • Develop and issue preventive maintenance records and work packages.
  • Discuss and interface on problems and concerns with associated work control/work package activity with site organizations.
  • Provide technical advice regarding maintenance and work control to facility management or work control personnel in any of number of potential specialty areas either in an engineering or subject matter expert capacity.
