This position involves light typing, faxing, copying, and filing. The Senior Word Processor will operate a computer terminal and personal computer, and maintain records stored both manually and electronically. A key responsibility includes assisting in preparing case files for shipment to the FRC (Federal Records Center) and in closing and packaging files for shipment to the FRC. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization, which necessitates US Citizenship. The position demands at least two years of word processing experience, with one year in the specific office automation environment (e.g., JCON 2a, Microsoft Office). A high school diploma or GED is required, along with demonstrated experience in a high-volume workload setting and the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to produce high-quality work under pressure. The role requires proficiency in operating computer terminals and personal computers. Physical demands include frequently moving, sorting, and filing physical case files, folders, and documents. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle objects, type, reach, talk, or hear. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to lift up to 15 lbs, bend, reach, carry, stoop, kneel, and climb is also necessary.
