About The Position

The Senior Windows Platform Engineer helps ensure that Cedars-Sinai’s technology services and infrastructure operate at peak performance. The role provides technical mentorship and performs engineering work to build, support, automate, and continuously improve a large, sophisticated on-premises and cloud-based computing environment. It applies enterprise practices for management, architecture, configuration, disaster recovery, administration, automation, incident management, and operational support. The engineer investigates complex system-level design proofs of concept and prototypes; provisions, configures, and maintains cloud resources; and performs cloud environment buildouts, site setup, training, installation, maintenance, support, and documentation. The role designs and supports automated Windows Server provisioning and post-build configuration workflows, develops scripts and processes to improve consistency, security, and efficiency, and designs high-availability solutions and standards. The role also provides advanced technical support and L3 troubleshooting, serves as a senior escalation point for critical incidents including P1 support, and coordinates service restoration with operations teams, vendors, and manufacturers. It contributes to disaster-recovery changes and testing; designs event-driven automation; plans and executes Windows Server end-of-life refreshes; and leads or contributes to server builds and infrastructure architecture. On-call or after-hours support may be required for critical incidents and P1 response. The position is hybrid remote and requires living in or relocating to the Los Angeles area to meet onsite requirements.
