About The Position

The Senior Windows Systems Administrator shall demonstrate experience in systems administration in the following operating systems: Windows. The specialized experience includes Windows system administration of WSUS and third party solutions, GPOs Windows Server and Windows Workstations, Thin Clients (hardware/software) and documentation creation/updates. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, managing system fixes, updates, and enhancements, and conducting testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The administrator will also provide end-user support, manage accounts, network rights, and system access, maintain system configurations and backups, and create/maintain documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, the role includes creating, monitoring, and restoring systems and files, researching new technologies, providing input for future systems and purchases, demonstrating general knowledge of enterprise frameworks and methodologies, and communicating effectively both written and verbally. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of system administration experience.
  • Must have a DOD Secret security clearance and have or be able to obtain an SSBI.
  • As per Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01, this position shall require Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) Level 2 certification; this includes both an Information Assurance (IA) certification and an Operating System (OS) certification.
  • The OS certification requirement will be for Unix/Linux or Windows depending on the position.
  • The Senior Systems Administrator is required to maintain the DoD 8140.01 IAT Level 2 certification for the life of the contract.
  • DoD Secret or higher security security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and maintain Operating Systems.
  • Manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates and enhancements.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Provide support including end user assistance.
  • Perform functions such as manage accounts, network rights, access to systems and equipment; maintain systems configuration and backups.
  • Create and maintain documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Create, monitor and maintain backups/restoration of systems and files.
  • Conduct research of new and upcoming technologies.
  • Provide input for future systems and purchases.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of enterprise frameworks and methodologies.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
