About The Position

The Senior Welder is a highly skilled worker responsible for welding and assembling metal components using a variety of welding techniques and materials. Other abilities include a deep understanding or quality measures, mentoring junior welders, and ensuring adherence to strict specifications and deadlines, advanced knowledge of blueprints. The ability to maintain safety standards within a manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is located in our assembly plant in Franklin, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in welding, including MIG, TIG, in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Accurately reading and understanding complex blueprints and engineering drawings to determine fabrication requirements.
  • Utilizing a variety of fabrication equipment including grinders, and hand tools to cut and shape parts to be welded.
  • Performing complex welding operations using MIG, TIG, or other welding methods to join metal pieces with high precision and quality.
  • Aligning and fitting components together to create complete weldments, ensuring proper tolerance and fit.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Providing guidance and training to less experienced fabricators on proper techniques, safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Capability to identify and troubleshoot fabrication issues that may arise.
  • Properly operating and maintaining welding machinery, including routine cleaning and reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Ability to design and construct jigs and fixtures to properly position parts to maintain quality standards and improve the repeatability or work.
