About The Position

This role is for an advisor who believes the best financial guidance is deeply human, understanding client behavior in volatile markets and directing AI rather than being threatened by it. The financial advice relationship is being remade, with human judgment, behavioral insight, and trust being the most important elements after AI absorbs analytical and operational work. Working as part of a close-knit advisory team, this role involves building and leading a portfolio of Steadyhand client relationships, delivering personalized advice across various communication channels. The position is client-focused, with every decision anchored in client needs, and demands an Owner's Mindset to grow a book of relationships into a long-term practice.

Requirements

  • QAFP or CFP designation (working towards accepted)
  • Seven or more years of direct client-facing experience in financial advisory or wealth management
  • A proven track record of building and retaining deep client relationships
  • Working fluency with AI tools in a professional context, with the judgment to know when to trust the output and when to challenge it

Nice To Haves

  • CFA, CIM, STEP/TEP, CDFA, or other advanced credential relevant to client specialization
  • Deep applied knowledge of behavioral finance as a coaching framework actively used with clients
  • Experience building a referral network and COI relationships from a standing start
  • A public-facing presence: writing, speaking, webinars, or other platforms demonstrating communication about money
  • Experience mentoring junior advisors with visible, measurable results

Responsibilities

  • Drive client retention above 95% by delivering proactive, outcomes-focused advice that meets clients at critical moments like market dislocations, life transitions, inheritance events, and retirement inflection points. Success is measured by the quality of client decisions made due to the advisor's guidance.
  • Act as a steady voice for clients during emotional market periods, providing behavioral guidance. The primary value is understanding what a client needs to hear, when, and how to deliver it to foster better decisions, applying behavioral finance as a framework for client conversations.
  • Review, govern, and contextualize AI-generated plans, models, and communications. Set the standard for advice quality, using AI to accelerate preparation and surface signals, while owning the judgment call, client conversation, and outcome. Determine when AI output is correct, when it needs challenging, and how to translate recommendations into human conversations that build trust.
  • Build Steadyhand's presence through a disciplined referral program, cultivated Centers of Influence, and prospect conversations that convert due to their unique approach. Reputation is built on depth of relationship, not volume of activity.
  • Develop the next generation of Steadyhand advisors by modeling excellent advisory practices, including client instincts, behavioral rigor, and experienced judgment. Ensure Associate Investor Specialists measurably improve within 12 months and can articulate their learning.
