About The Position

Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Senior Water System Engineer to support its defense clients across the water portfolio. This role involves collaborating with experts in the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability (ERS) Division to provide comprehensive policy, planning, and implementation services. The goal is to address critical infrastructure resilience and security, and data management issues, supporting the military mission while reducing environmental impacts. The successful candidate will work on small project teams to develop policies, strategies, and frameworks to evaluate the feasibility of water supply independence at military installations. This position is hybrid, located in the Washington, D.C., area, with flexibility for remote work and in-person client/team discussions. Travel is required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
At least 6 years of professional experience in water resources engineering, utility management, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise in water balance modeling, water treatment technologies, and conveyance systems.
Proven experience with engineering cost estimation and life-cycle cost analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical subjects for a non-technical audience.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically (approx. 10-15%).
Must be a U.S Citizen.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Direct experience working on projects for the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Air Force (DAF), or other federal agencies.
Familiarity with military installations and the operations of a Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) or Directorate of Public Works (DPW).
Experience with water risk analysis tools (e.g., WRI Aqueduct Atlas).

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical lead for the project, from initial data collection to final reporting, including authoring the technical sections of all major project deliverables and presenting complex engineering concepts and findings to senior leaders.
Design, build, and validate a feasibility conditions model to score installations for water neutrality potential and a parametric cost model to estimate the financial investment required for resilience projects.
Lead a multi-week on-site assessment at pilot installations, performing infrastructure walk-downs, leading technical interviews, and gathering the essential data needed to validate models.
Research and analyze a portfolio of innovative water technologies, including advanced wastewater reuse (e.g., membrane bioreactors, MBR), atmospheric water generation (AWG), smart rainwater harvesting, and aquifer storage and recovery (ASR).
Provide technical direction and mentorship to a supporting junior analyst, fostering their growth while ensuring the quality and rigor of all technical work.
