About The Position

HDR is seeking a Senior Wastewater Engineer to contribute to its Water Business Group, supporting public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience through water and wastewater projects. The role involves leading technical work and project coordination for wastewater infrastructure, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and working directly with clients. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of experience with municipal water and wastewater systems planning and design.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered, such as a PE or P.Eng license.
• Strong technical background and experience designing water distribution systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Project engineering and project management experience.
• Commitment to active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Preference given to local candidates.
• 15 years of experience in wastewater systems planning and design.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.

Responsibilities

• Independently create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates for wastewater pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, tanks, and other systems.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams working from separate locations to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Guide the planning and execution of complex multidisciplinary studies, simulations, and plans for wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Take responsibility for engineering and process design, project coordination, engineering specifications, work planning, design methods, report preparation and coordination, equipment sizing and selection, and client delivery.
• Establish quality standards and value engineering solutions.
• Conduct quality control reviews of completed designs.
• Serve as a technical expert in wastewater systems.
• Serve as a project manager on water and wastewater projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
