About The Position

The Senior Project Manager leads complex, large-scale automation projects at Berkshire Grey from planning through closeout. This role owns scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, vendor performance, stakeholder communication, and delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of project management experience, preferably in robotics or supply chain, with a record of delivering complex projects from initiation through completion.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or Asana; experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of quality management, risk management, change control, and issue resolution practices.

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects from kickoff through customer acceptance and support several projects concurrently.
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules in the PSA tool, including milestones, resources, budgets, and dependencies; adjust plans based on performance and changing conditions.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, roles, and resource needs with cross-functional teams; confirm team readiness and lead project kickoff and design-phase alignment.
  • Obtain Berkshire Grey and customer signoff on the baselined scope at the end of design, and control subsequent changes through documented approval and communication.
  • Support project estimates during the sales cycle as needed.
  • Develop and manage project budgets; update monthly cost forecasts in the PSA tool and review project performance with Finance.
  • Process and track change orders, monitor potential overruns, issue timely overrun alerts, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain risk registers and issue trackers; lead periodic reviews, implement mitigation and contingency plans, and escalate issues requiring management support.
  • Develop quality plans and metrics that align Berkshire Grey, vendors, and customers on required standards and specifications; initiate corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure detailed test scenarios are documented and reviewed with the customer, and track testing through completion.
  • Develop volume ramp plans and coordinate team readiness for the transition from prototype to full-scale production.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors such as general contractors, riggers, installers, and conveyor providers based on project requirements, quality, and cost.
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance, including delivery, installation, quality, issue resolution, and negotiated changes.
  • Build effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create the project communication plan and governance cadence, establish a steering committee, lead weekly status meetings, issue weekly reports, and present monthly updates to executives.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, clarify accountability, and support Project Managers with scope, schedule, resource changes, risks, issues, and escalations.
  • Confirm completion and customer signoff, organize final documentation, conduct lessons learned, release resources, and transition the project to the support team.
  • Improve project management templates and procedures and remain current on relevant robotics and supply chain practices.
