About The Position

Peraton is looking for a Senior Warehouse Engineering Technician to support operations full time at the Acoustic Trials Detachment (ATD) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) in Titusville, Florida. In this position, you will be working within a small government-contractor team supporting NSWCCD acoustic sea trials, acoustic measurement system build-out and installation, and general activities at ATD. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the power and mechanical systems throughout the facility by establishing and tracking objectives. You will be responsible for power and mechanical system planning and installations. This position interfaces and coordinates with internal groups, and a variety of contractors on projects. Will apply expertise in several disciplines including generators, UPS, HVAC, AC, construction buildouts, fire protection systems, security systems, space planning, as well as PC skills. You will keep abreast of industry best practices and trends, as well as new technologies, and then plans and advises for implementation. Other duties and responsibilities include: Inventory Management: Conduct ongoing inventory of all warehouse contents, ensuring accuracy and organization. Shipping and Receiving: Handle all incoming shipments, including unloading trucks, inspecting deliveries for accuracy and damage, and properly storing items. This will require the use of a forklift and knowledge of safe lifting practices. Waste Management: Break down and dispose of used pallets, boxes, and other packing materials in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner to include proper storage and tracking of any hazardous material. Equipment and Safety Management: Perform routine inspections on all warehouse equipment, including daily forklift checks, to ensure operational safety. Manage the maintenance schedule for forklifts and other key equipment, coordinating with external vendors for service and repairs as needed. Maintain detailed inspection records for all items requiring scheduled checks, such as rigging gear. Conduct general repairs of equipment and facilities as best as possible. General Support: Assist with the physical assembly of any acoustic trials related data acquisition projects as required. Collaborate with and assist Division 73 Techs with installation and removal of acoustic trial equipment. Must be willing and able to work at sea on surface or subsurface ship platforms for extended periods as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain Active Secret clearance required.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Position requires 25 - 50% travel with trips up to two weeks in duration.
  • Candidate must be able to support shipboard (submarine and surface ship) installations (able to climb vertical ladders, walk on uneven surfaces, crouch in small spaces, and carry 50 pounds for short distances).
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • 9+ years of experience with HS diploma
  • 7+ years of experience with AS
  • 5 years of experience with BS/BA
  • 3 years of experience with MS/MA
  • 0 years of experience with PhD

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to work aboard an underway submarine for about a week at a time is highly desirable.
