About The Position

OKX is hiring a Senior Visual Designer for its Visual System Team, which shapes the look and feel of products across mobile and web. The role sits at the intersection of brand expression and product design, contributing to distinctive, coherent, and trusted visual experiences across trading, wallet, payments, and social products. This is a hybrid onsite position, and candidates must be in the Bay Area, California. The designer will participate early in product development, shaping visual concepts for features, integrating brand moments into product flows, and helping visual systems scale. Working alongside the Design System and Content System teams, the designer will contribute to frameworks for illustration, motion, iconography, and brand-in-product patterns. The role emphasizes reusable, scalable design work and close collaboration with product designers, engineers, product managers, and the Brand Design team. AI-assisted ideation, exploration, prototyping, and asset production are core parts of the team’s workflow.

Requirements

4–6 years of experience in visual design, UI design, digital-focused brand design, or a related discipline.
A portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft, modern taste, and attention to detail.
Experience taking product experiences from wireframes to polished, production-ready UI.
Strong UI and digital design fundamentals across product, responsive web, and mobile; mobile-first experience is essential.
Exceptional craft in typography, color, composition, layout, interaction, and detail.
Experience creating or contributing to scalable design systems, including tokens, components, patterns, and coherent visual languages.
Ability to translate brand direction into product experiences that meet user and business needs while allowing distinctive product expression.
Active use of generative tools for ideation, exploration, prototyping, and production, with strong creative judgment in refining generated outputs.
Clear, collaborative communication skills and the ability to articulate design rationale and work effectively with product designers, engineers, product managers, and Brand Design.
Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools, including communicating interaction and motion intent through high-fidelity prototypes.
Must be in the Bay Area, California, for this hybrid onsite position.

Nice To Haves

Experience creating light animation.
Experience with 3D software or a genuine willingness to learn.
Experience designing for fintech, crypto, or trading platforms.
Strong visual illustration and interaction ideation skills, including creating original visual assets.
Ability to develop clear, high-quality visual solutions quickly and decisively, with an exceptional eye for layout, composition, and hierarchy.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while balancing speed with high craft standards.
Experience working with globally distributed teams across offices and time zones.
Familiarity with front-end implementation, including CSS, design tokens, and component architecture.

Responsibilities

Create high-quality visual and UI designs across OKX trading, wallet, payments, and social products, from concept through pixel-perfect delivery.
Contribute to scalable visual systems, including illustration styles, motion tokens, color systems, iconography, layout patterns, UI components, and design tokens.
Translate brand direction into in-product experiences, maintaining brand consistency while responding to product goals, user needs, and performance metrics.
Design engaging, product-native visual experiences for campaigns, launches, and feature moments.
Integrate generative AI tools into daily design workflows for ideation, exploration, variation, prototyping, and asset production, and share effective workflows with the team.
Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and product managers to ground decisions in user needs and technical feasibility.
Participate in design reviews, give and receive constructive critique, and clearly communicate design rationale.
Propose creative concepts and present the reasoning behind visual decisions to team leads and stakeholders.
