The Vice President of Operations works independently at the professional senior management level. This position is designated as a position of special trust. Specific duties include assigning, supervising, and reviewing the activities of operations and program management staff. This role involves developing, planning, and organizing procedures and systems to ensure operational goals are met. It also facilitates positive and productive working relationships between the company, State Boards and agencies, community-based organizations, local units of government, professional and business organizations. The position is responsible for developing, analyzing, reviewing, and updating operating plans and program budgets, making recommendations concerning relevant issues and priorities consistent with goals, policies and objectives. Additionally, it evaluates, compiles, and presents statistical measures of program effectiveness against desired objectives and analyzes, evaluates, and disseminates relevant law, statute, regulation, and policy. The role works closely with the Executive Management Team to accomplish strategic plan goals, acts as a liaison for Board of Directors committees, and provides day-to-day leadership and management to staff. It is responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass performance measures, business goals, and objectives, as well as for the measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external operational processes. The position provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the company, represents the company at various community activities, and meets and networks regularly with business leaders and partners. It spearheads the development, communication, and implementation of effective performance strategies and processes, collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure, and motivates and leads a high-performance management team, attracting, recruiting, and retaining required members and providing mentoring to field staff. Additional duties include managing in-house and contracted Youth Program services, establishing master contract files, reviewing contract payments, and working with staff to ensure compliance with contract guidelines. It also develops/implements strategies to ensure program monitoring is completed with minimal observations or findings and provides vital information as the EEO Counselor regarding the EEO process and other available processes to an aggrieved individual.
