About The Position

As the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Earned Media, you are a key leader on HUNTER’s centralized Media Team, driving and developing the strategies that keep our clients at the forefront of the cultural conversation. In this role, you are spearheading earned media excellence and project management across a powerhouse roster of food & beverage, spirits, home & lifestyle, health & beauty, tech, and travel brands. This role is for a high-level strategist who can oscillate between 30,000-foot strategic planning and "in the trenches" leadership. This seasoned media pro knows how to navigate senior agency leads and executives, mentor the next generation of media stars, and turn a complex brand challenge into a headline-grabbing success story. Requirements

  • 10-12 years of PR agency or media experience, with a proven track record of career-defining earned media campaigns.
  • 7+ years of experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape and a passion for redefining "earned" in a digital-first world.
  • A degree in PR, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in translating data from industry tools like Muckrack, Meltwater, and Critical Mention into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to travel to client headquarters or major event locations.

  • Expertise in multicultural earned media is highly desirable and would be a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of high-impact media strategies, ensuring every campaign is integrated, innovative, and aligned with broader client goals.
  • Maintain a high-level network of key editors and industry titans, building long-term relationships with influential outlets.
  • Support media outreach, land significant coverage, and pitch alongside the team during high-stakes moments.
  • Serve as the strategic liaison between Account, Creative, Digital, and Entertainment teams, ensuring earned media is a core driver of creative execution.
  • Provide expert counsel to clients and internal leaders on complex issues management and problem-solving from a media-first lens.
  • Manage and mentor a team of media specialists, providing training and feedback to foster a high-performing, collaborative environment.
  • Oversee project timelines, manage team bandwidth, and stay diligent on active billings, tracking deliverables and ensuring scopes are met.
  • Ensure expert management of booking talent and executing celebrity spokesperson media days, with top-notch run of show documents and interview briefs.
  • Oversee operational tasks, including building project scopes, managing billings/time, and contributing to new business pitches.
  • Support the development of proactive thought leadership POVs on media relations topics.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on emerging media, such as GEO and AI's impact on news consumption, to drive innovation.
  • Confidently present to and counsel clients and agency leaders, translating media metrics into business-driving results.
  • Develop multifaceted media roadmaps that resonate across traditional, social, and emerging platforms based on brand objectives.
  • Manage high-stakes programming and tight deadlines with executive poise.
  • Travel to client headquarters or major event locations, representing the agency’s media expertise on the ground.
