About The Position

BNY is seeking a senior engineering/developer professional to join its RME/SMS team in NY/NJ. The role leads the architecture, engineering, and strategic evolution of the Responsibility Management & Entitlements (RME) and Secrets Management platforms, enterprise services supporting secrets management, access governance, and entitlement lifecycle management across the firm. The position drives platform modernization to improve scalability, performance, resiliency, and operational efficiency as adoption, transaction volumes, and integration complexity grow. It partners with engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver secure, compliant, highly available solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements. The role also provides technical leadership for strategic transformation, public cloud expansion, and enterprise modernization programs; influences technology direction and investment decisions; and identifies opportunities to improve platform stability, reduce operational risk, strengthen service delivery, and remediate vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will mentor and develop engineering talent and promote accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. This position applies deep architectural expertise, sound technical judgment, and execution leadership to complex enterprise challenges on a business-critical platform.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
9–11 years of experience in software development or technology infrastructure engineering.
Extensive experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale enterprise platforms.
Strong understanding of access governance, entitlement management, identity and access management, or related security domains.
Ability to architect scalable, resilient, and secure solutions for complex integrations, high transaction volumes, and mission-critical business processes.
Deep expertise in modern application architectures, cloud technologies, distributed systems, and platform modernization, including hybrid and public cloud environments.
Demonstrated success leading complex technology initiatives involving engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application development organizations.
Strong technical leadership and ability to influence stakeholders, drive strategic decisions, and build consensus.
Experience identifying and mitigating operational, security, scalability, and resiliency risks while maintaining platform availability and service delivery.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Track record of mentoring engineers, fostering technical excellence, and promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and high-quality execution.
Ability to quickly understand complex business and technology ecosystems and deliver value through technical judgment, architectural expertise, and execution leadership.
