About The Position

BNY is seeking a Senior Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering (Mainframe Communications Systems Software) to join their Technology Services Group (TSG) via their Mainframe Services team. This role is located in Jersey City, Pittsburgh, or Lake Mary via a hybrid in-office work arrangement. The role involves overseeing delivery projects for hardware and software lifecycle management, administering Mainframes running on z/OS systems with technologies like JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, source code management, SDLC practices, and security mechanisms (ACF2, RACF, TSS). The position also requires rethinking traditional service building, modernizing capabilities through innovation and automation, leading cross-functional efforts, partnering with data center services and application developers, and coaching/mentoring managers and teams to build talent and engagement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Typically 6-10 years of experience.
Expertise in infrastructure design and implementation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective collaboration and communication abilities.
10+ years of diverse experience in multiple areas of information technology required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
Experienced in diverse mainframe technical environments.
Experienced in one or more mainframe infrastructure, hardware, system programming technologies and/or application development.
Alternative experiences must include high learning agility to acquire mainframe technology knowledge and apply previous experiences to achieve operational outcomes.
Direct Mainframe experience is a necessity as is the ability to lead a technical team, build relationships, and possess a strategic mindset to drive the team to successful outcomes.
Possess communication skills to appropriately lead at the client/team/Business unit levels.
Experienced leading complex projects and programs.
Experience in tooling, utilities, and data transport.
Experience in Architecture and design principles.
Skilled communicator that can influence internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels and be able to navigate complex technical topics and communicate them with clarity, brevity, and impact.
Able to manage up, down and across organizations, clients and/or functions.

Nice To Haves

Advanced certifications in infrastructure engineering or related disciplines preferred.
Knowledge in one or more areas of mainframe discipline.
ITIL or ITSM oversight or expertise in Release, Change and CMDB
Installation knowledge of ISV SW and IBM Operating systems
Required Knowledge of VTAM, TCPIP, IBM connect Direct, CA session manager, CA spool
Knowledge in JCL
Knowledge of ISPF/TSO
Framework experience in building and maintaining a mainframe platform

Responsibilities

Oversee a broad range of delivery projects to fulfill both hardware and software Lifecycle Management.
